John 6:35 “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
As our body needs food and water to survive, we need Jesus for our lives. He is the bread of life. when we have Jesus, we will never hunger or thirst.
John 6:33 “For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” Jesus came for us and sacrificed Himself to give us life more abundantly.
Let’s consider plants. They need a combination of water, air (including carbon dioxide), nutrients from soil, light, and the right temperature to survive. They also need adequate space to grow and proper humidity for healthy development, only then they bear fruit and grow as trees. Without the above things, plants wither and die.
When our lives starts receiving the required nourishment from the Lord, we will also grow healthy just like the Word mentions in Psalm 1:3, which says , “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”
We need the Awesome trinity: God the Father, Jesus and His Holy Spirit. They help us nourish and live our life on this earth. We need the bread of life that’s “Jesus” and the Holy Spirit who will quench our thirst. As we are nourished with the Word of God and are filled with the living waters, we remain nourished in body, soul and mind and would never wither or run dry. We see people depressed, distressed, struggling, suffering, angry, and harboring unforgiveness in their hearts. They are sick in both heart and mind. This clearly states that they are lacking Jesus and are dry in their lives. It applies to Christians as well. They are not exempted just because they belong to a religion. When we take the Word and are full of Word in us and are filled continually with the Holy Spirit, we look energized, happy, even in problems we continue to rejoice because, Word will encourage and Holy Spirit will give the peace that passes all understanding. The Joy of the Lord will be our strength. God protects us when we use the armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-18
John 4:13 -14 “ Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
King David in the bible had many troubles, even though he sinned against the Lord, he quickly returned to God to find mercy and grace. He was always hungry for the Lord and would worship God with all his mind soul and spirit. God mentioned him as a man after His own heart (1 Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22).
The book of Psalm is written by David and it is the biggest book of the Bible. David in Psalm 42:1 said, “As the dear pants for the waters so my soul longs for you.” He longed for God word more than anything.
We need to be hungry and thirsty to seek the Lord as David did. God will never leaves us nor forsake us even in the times when we thing we are not close to Him.
