All the teachings of Jesus were filled with amazement to the point of being overwhelming or they were astonished. Jesus' teachings are always backed up with authority and actions.

What type of Authority did Jesus Posses? It's the authority as an heir of the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is the Son of God, even though He was born as a human on earth, He still exercised the heavenly authority as an heir of God. He did not lose the relationship with the Father when He was on earth.
John 1:14, which states, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth".
Through Jesus we are called as children of God. John 1:12-13, which states: "But to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God"
Galatians 3:26, "For through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus,"
The above verses clearly states that we are the children of God and have the same relationship just as Jesus has with the Father. We must have the knowing in our heart that we belong to God and use the authority as children of God in our life. We are in the world sent by God to fulfill His will and the purpose.
Jesus had to remind His earthly parents that He was sent to Earth to take care of the Father's business.
Luke 2:49 "And he said to them, “Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be about my Father's business?”
This statement by Jesus, spoken when he was 12 years old and found in the Temple after being lost, emphasizes his singular focus on fulfilling God's will and purpose.
When Jesus ascended to heaven, he commissioned his disciples to continue the Father's business and so we as the believers of Christ are still continuing to work on Father's business.
We have a divine mission to fulfill. We must strive to achieve the goals set by God in our lives. Typically, as a business owner, you possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the business, including its rules and regulations. You hold ultimate authority over the company.
There are few questions we need to ask ourselves before we think about the business.
1. Do we have a perfect relationship with the Father?
2. Do we know the purpose, plans and the will of the Father in our Life?
3. Do we have the knowledge and understanding of our Father's business?
Firstly, we must have the understanding that we are not just believers of Christ but the children of God and Co-heirs with Christ. Whatever Christ inherits, we inherit them all as an heir of God.
Romans 8:17, which states, "And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ"
Ephesians 1:11 and Romans 8:17, state that we are heirs with Christ and have obtained an inheritance in Him.
Let’s address what it means to be an “heir.” While a child can be an heir, the term itself is broader, referring to anyone legally entitled to inherit property or assets, such as children, spouses, or other relatives. Being a child alone doesn’t guarantee inheritance. However, God has made us heirs in Christ, granting us a divine inheritance. Along with this privilege comes the responsibility to carry out our Father’s work and faithfully steward what He has entrusted to us.
Do we have the knowledge and understanding of our Father's business?
In a business, there are various roles such as managers, employees, and helpers. Employees typically focus only on their assigned tasks and have limited knowledge of the overall operation. Managers may have more authority and insight, but even they lack full control over the entire company. The heir, however, stands apart. As the one who inherits the business, the heir holds complete authority and is expected to know and oversee everything. They have the power to make key decisions, such as hiring or dismissing employees, and must also confront and deal with any threats or challenges to the business.
Jesus used the same authority to exercise it over His enemy the Devil.
Mark 1: 21-28
21 Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. 22 And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, 24 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, [h]“Be quiet, and come out of him!” 26 And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. 27 Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, [i]“What is this? What new [j]doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.” 28 And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee.
We are not mere employees or managers with limited authority; we are co-heirs with Christ in the kingdom of God. We must understand that we share the same position as Christ, and possessing authority over all powers of darkness, principalities, and powers in the heavenly realms. As the heir of God, Jesus exercised all authority and cast out unclean spirits. Jesus declared that we can accomplish greater things than He did.
Do you know what sets Jesus apart from other so-called gods? Can you ponder over it?
Jesus was incorruptible and sinless and which is why unclean spirits recognized Him as the Holy One of God. Demons can discern a person's holiness. As the Holy One of God, Jesus took authority and commanded the spirits to be silent and to depart.
Mark 1: 21-28 A man in their synagogue had an unclean spirit. He cried out, 24 saying, “Leave us alone! What do we have to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, [h]“Be quiet, and come out of him!” 26 The unclean spirit convulsed the man, cried out loudly, and came out of him.
God is considered as true God because of His Holiness. Jesus is Holy and the Devil recognizes the children of God by their Holiness.
Satan, once the most beautiful angel with authority over God's kingdom, was cast out due to pride and became the evil one. He lost his Holiness and is known as a Devil, the enemy of God.
We must be holy as Jesus is Holy in order to walk in the same authority and stand against the enemy. If you have lost the holiness, simply need to turn to the Father, ask to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and our authority is restored.
Ephesians 6:10–18 calls believers to put on the full armor of God to stand firm against the spiritual forces of evil. This armor includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Equipped with these, we are strengthened to resist the enemy and remain steadfast in our faith.
Let us purify ourselves and strive to be holy as God is Holy. We are not perfect, however, when we endeavor and give our best to become holy, God’s mercy and grace will abundantly cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
So, firstly, let's have a relationship with God the Father on daily basis to understand and know His will and purpose for our life. Let us follow Christ, our perfect example, and live out our calling in Him and may the Holy Spirit guide you into all understanding.
